Solo Adultos is a duo-project of vocalist/guitarist extraordinaire Chris Cote and the multi-instrumentalist visionary Janne Haavisto (The Farangs).
Helsinki is an ambient recording by Miikka Paatelainen and Janne Haavisto of The Farangs. The structure of this record makes it a special one. Helsinki is a 39 minute piece divided into three 13 minute sections, that can all be played together simultaneously. By burning two copies anD playing parts 1, 2 and 3 on three boom boxes scattered around your room or apartment, you get an "El-Cheapo Home-Fidelity Surround Sound". |

The long-awaited third album by The Farangs, titled 'We Must Be Losing It' will be released on june 15th, during the legendary Midnight Sun Film Festival. The seven piece band that gathers together Finland´s finest talent with the singer extraordinaire Chris Cote from Boston, hosts a party on this CD with wide variety of quests. Among the invited are author Paul Auster (New York Trilogy), who reads two of his poems, MC5 legend Wayne Kramer and investigative journalist Greg Palast (Best Democracy Money Can Buy), who both deliver superb spoken word. Also on the quest-list is Tom Waits guitarist Marc Ribot, who makes a re-appearance, after already playing on the previous Farangs long-play "Permanent Jet Lag". Sax genious Michael Blake, blues-shouter Barrence Whitfield (another delicious re-appearance) and slide-vituoso Bob Brozman also drop by to make the gathering more funky.
The music of The Farangs has many times been described as 'cinematic' and not without reason. The wide range of sounds and moods created by musician/producer Janne Haavisto and his partners in crime bring together with ease influences from the mystic east and the bluesy west ,adding African spices to the mix for some soulful cooking. The hand-crafted, warm sound of the Farangs can also be heard on the bonus tracks, recorded live.
